Why Your Energy Feels Uneven Right Now

(And What to Do About It).

We are in a moment of (another) seasonal shift and even though it may feel that everything changed overnight, rest assured, it has been a compilation of gradual changes.

The heaviness of early spring—the slower mornings, the damp ground, the sense of moving through something thick—feels like it's all just gone.

And in its place?

Movement.

Restlessness.

A sense that you should be doing more…even if you’re not quite sure what that is exactly.

If your energy has felt uneven lately, you’re not imagining it.

You might notice:

  • Bursts of motivation followed by sudden dips.
  • A desire to start everything… and finish nothing.
  • Feeling mentally busy but physically scattered.
  • More movement, but less direction.

This is a natural seasonal shift for this late spring period of May 1- June 15.

What’s Actually Happening.

In Ayurveda, this time of year is a transition from early spring into late spring.

We move from:
🌲 Heavy Earth → 🌬️ Wandering Wind

From:

  • Grounded → Shifting
  • Steady → Variable
  • Dense → Mobile

Early spring holds a heavier, slower energy.

Late spring begins to lighten (just like the daylight coming back minute by minute).

And while that sounds like a good thing (and it is), it also introduces instability.

Why You Feel “Off”.

When energy starts to move after a period of stillness, it doesn’t always feel smooth.

It can feel like:

  • Starting and stopping.
  • Wanting change but lacking direction.
  • Feeling energized one moment and depleted the next.

This isn’t a lack of discipline.

It’s a system adjusting to new conditions.

The Mistake Most People Make.

When things feel inconsistent, the instinct is to:

  • Push harder.
  • Create strict routines.
  • Try to “lock in” motivation.

But during a seasonal transition, that usually backfires.

Because you’re trying to force stability in a time that is naturally shifting.

What to Do Instead.

Instead of forcing consistency, focus on gentle stabilization.

One of the things that can help here is gently supporting your system underneath the movement.

Not control.

Not perfection.

Just support.

Here’s what that looks like:

1. Keep things simple.

This is not the season for overcomplication.

Simple meals.
Simple routines.
Simple expectations.

The more you simplify, the easier it is to stay grounded.

2. Anchor your day with one steady thing.

When everything feels like it’s moving, give yourself one place to land.

This could be:

  • A morning routine.
  • A daily walk.
  • A consistent mealtime.

Not everything needs to be structured.

Just start with ONE thing.

3. Notice your patterns (without judgment).

This is the most important piece.

When you feel:

  • Scattered.
  • Impulsive.
  • Pulled in multiple directions.

Pause.

Not to fix it immediately—but to notice it.

Awareness and recognition is what allows change to happen naturally.

4. Choose supportive over convenient (when you can).

You don’t need to get it right every single time.

But small shifts matter.

Instead of:

  • Quick fixes that actually will leave you depleted.

Choose:

  • Options that will sustain you.

Not perfectly.

Just more often than the alternative.

This Is a Transition, Not a Problem.

Nothing about this season asks you to be perfect.

It asks you to:

  • Pay attention.
  • Move gently.
  • And support yourself through change.

Your energy is adjusting.
